According to a new law in California it is now illegal to retain a sense of reality, common sense, and clear-mind–at least if you are in the vicinity of someone delusional enough to use fake gender pronouns.
The law, ostensibly put in place to encourage healthcare safetyand harmony (as if this doesn’t sound close enough to a Soviet ministry of truth and justice), says that California health care workers who “willfully and repeatedly” decline to use a transgender patient’s preferred pronouns might be punished with fines or possibly even jail time.
Governor Jerry Brown, of the California State of Sanctuary and Communism, signed the legislation into law last week. Besides, who needs free speech, anyways right? When the legislation was being discussed as something that might be limiting to an American’s First Amendment rights, Jerry Brown refused to acknowledge that this could be a dangerous precedent:
“It’s just more scare tactics by people who oppose all LGBT civil rights and protections, he said in a statement last month.
This statement is patently false and a despicable framing of a law that will literally allow possible jail time should a heavy handed prosecutor and judge ever choose to join forces. What’s more, people are left puzzled by the notion that transgender people are somehow protected from the possibility of being called a name–not just a name but a widely used identifier! Even if the normal terms of his and her are used in a malicious manner to offend, when in the course of American history have we decided it was right to shelter people from non-violent confrontation?
Here’s how Fox describes the language of the bill. Let’s compare it to Brown’s claim that no one will be jailed:
The bill itself is aimed at protecting transgender and other LGBT individuals in hospitals, retirement homes and assisted living facilities. The bill would ensure those facilities accommodate transgender people and their needs, including letting them decide which gender-specific bathroom they prefer to use.
“It shall be unlawful for a long-term care facility or facility staff to take any of the following actions wholly or partially on the basis of a person’s actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) status,” the bill reads.
The law states that if provisions are violated, the violator could be punished by a fine “not to exceed one thousand dollars” or “by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not to exceed one year,” or both.
So this is pretty cut and dry. You can go to jail. Governor Brown is at best a completely incompetent man or at the worst an incredibly evil that signed a bill into law knowing full well that people could not only have their careers and wallets ruined, but also have their freedom stripped. This would all happen because a mentally deranged individual decided their chromosomes are irrelevant.
As for liberals, well Politifact(wholly owned and operated by the Tampa Bay Times Liberals) is running the defense:
Wiener has said purposefully using the wrong pronoun would be treated the same way as someone who violates a center’s smoking ban. It would be considered a minor violation but “no one is going to jail for that.”
Facilities that fail to comply would most likely get a notice of violation, akin to “a parking ticket,” the senator said in an interview with PolitiFact California. He added that the provisions apply only to care facility staff, not to residents.
So, again, yes. You can go to jail but they will most likely just rob you of your wallet. They just want to keep their options open. This bill is an attack against political dissidents.
Social “Justice” In America: The Warrior’s Cry Of Insanity
Frankly, the whole point of the First Amendment is to protect controversial, objectionable speech. It’s been said again and again and again but maybe it needs to be said once more: the point of the First Amendment isn’t to protect speech that the lowest common denominator finds acceptable. If that were the case, we wouldn’t need protections at all! No, instead, the reason we have protections in the first place is to prevent a mob mentality from cracking down on dissident, marginalized speech that might be deemed unnecessary, objectionable, or an obstacle to uniformity. But I am wasting my breath. If any of you California liberals actually believe this garbage is appropriate, you sure better refer to me with my preferred pronouns: “his royal highness.”
Laws like this have been creeping into our society with a deadly amount of support from the passively degenerate elements of society that would rather the world be quiet and safe than free and exciting. The worst, most militant elements of these people are called Social Justice Warriors and you’ve probably seen some of their friend’s in AntiFa doing their handy work. AntiFa is to the Social Justice Warrior what the IRA was to the Ireland Home Rule Movement.
