The NFL is all the rage today. As we have seen, the protests are currently running rampant throughout today and it all stems from one thing. President Donald Trump made comments recently regarding the NFL and their protests. He talked about Colin Kaepernick and what he had done to get these protests started. Ever since he took his first knee, numerous players have followed in his footsteps.
Trump said, “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these N.F.L. owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, out, he’s fired!.’” “You know, some owner is going to do that. He’s gonna say, ‘That guy disrespects our flag, he’s fired.’ And that owner, they don’t know it. They don’t know it. They’re friends of mine, many of them. They don’t know it. They’ll be the most popular person, for a week. They’ll be the most popular person in the country.”
He used some harsh language. That much is true. However, what he says is straight and to the point. There is a lot that can be said about what Trump might think or believe. But this is what we know. Hundreds of players all across the country have taken it upon themselves to disrespect the flag and those who serve it.
This will not stand and it is not standing. Now, Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, has once again stood up for our country because he is a patriot. He has come out before telling his players that they need to be careful. Jones wants his players to respect the flag no matter what. He simply thinks that this time is for football. What they do in their outside lives is up to them.

“I do not think the place to express yourself in society is as we recognize the American flag,” Jerry Jones said, talking about the many kneeling players we saw today.
There are far too many examples of this kind of disrespect. Hopefully we can get back on track and take the NFL back to being a football league.
